Exchange is the e-mail and collaboration server of Microsoft with which companies can communicate in a more efficient manner. Besides the extensive customer functionality of Microsoft Office Outlook mobile, external and desktop access to e-mail with state-of-the-art security and privacy. A secure connection with the mailbox and shared agendas is provided from every workplace. All that is needed is a PC with Internet connection and a web browser. Access is also possible with a Pocket PC or a Smartphone. Additionally, Exchange offers high reliability and excellent performance.

Hosted Exchange as a Service

Delivered from the SaaSplaza infrastructure and built according to the Microsoft recommended standard, you can access a cost-efficient and reliable environment. As Hosted Exchange is provided as a Service, no customer investments are required in infrastructure, security and management. SaaSplaza has developed a scalable Exchange infrastructure, enabling quick and easy creation of new mail environments, and linking these to existing domain names, or integrating them with other services from the Microsoft Portfolio. Virus and spam filters are standard elements of the mail platform. Exchange can be used with the customer, such as Outlook, on the PC of the user or via the browser (Microsoft OWA).

Integration

Integration with other applications, such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM is possible through connections with the SaaSplaza infrastructure or integration at the workplace. This is based on specific agreements.

Upgrades

SaaSplaza initiates all updates, fixes and patches for Microsoft Exchange within the maintenance windows, as stated in the SLA. Point of departure is and remains that all environments jointly migrate to the newest version of Microsoft Exchange. A solution with a specific migration path will be developed in consultation with SaaSplaza if needed by the Partner. Activities are normally calculated on the basis of time/material, unless other agreements are made. The details are laid down in the Service Level Agreement.

User management

Using mySaaSplaza provisioning, the online self service portal of SaaSplaza, Partners can gain access within 5 minutes to a completely new Exchange environment without intervention by, or advance notification to SaaSplaza. Also, this portal enables registration of customer users and the allocation of user rights. It is possible to create own mailboxes, allocate specific rights, define e-mail rules or change the mail plan. The Partner can also delegate these functions to a manager employed by the customer. The costs of use of this panel are included in the service. Single sign on; a user is registered once only in the system and can, with a unique user ID and password, access the various Microsoft applications, even if these are only made available at a later stage.

Specifications Microsoft Hosted Exchange 2007 environment

SaaSplaza supplies Microsoft Exchange 2007 from a shared platform, making it possible to create a new mail environment for an organization within minutes. All costs of hardware and network infrastructure and security are included in the service. The various functionalities of Exchange 2007 are specified below.

SaaSplaza supports the autodiscover function for Microsoft Outlook. By entering an URL, user name and password, users can automatically retrieve all settings for the Outlook customer. The necessary steps are described in a white labeled manual. A manual is also available for configuring the mailbox for Mobile Access (on the basis of WM6).
