Microsoft S+S services

All Microsoft services are delivered from the SaaSplaza infrastructure and built according to Microsoft’s recommended standard and provide a cost-efficient and reliable environment. By providing Microsoft products as a service, investments for IT staff, infrastructure, security and management are practically nil. The service is run from a shared platform. Most applications integrate with other Microsoft Services or with solutions developed by Partners itselve.

You can choose between two different licensing models for licensing your services. Microsoft offers the Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) and the Business Ready License (BRL). There are different possible options regarding licensing and license ownership of the Microsoft Services delivered by SaaSplaza. Basically there are two options; the end-customers buys a Volume License or Business Ready License (=BRL) or the Partner is providing the end-customer the monthly rights to use the Microsoft software, this is called the SPLA license.

The differences between the BRL license and the SPLA license from the S+S perspective:

BRL License SPLA License
  • Payment upfront at once
  • Charged per month
  • Customer buys and owns the license.
  • Customer pays for the usage of the license; however does not own it.
  • The Software Assurance is optional on a surcharge.
  • The Software Assurance is included; so the customer has always the righ to use the newest version.
  • Based on concurrent users. If more users are needed additional licenses are needed. Lowering this number is not possible.
  • The SPLA license is on a named user basis. The SPLA usage is charged on the exact number of registered named users per month. The number, higher or lower, can change per month, which will directly result in a higher or lower price.
  • An asset on the Balance Sheet.
  • Not capitalized in the Balance Sheet.
  • Offers discounts for a higher number of users.
  • Remains constant regardless of the number of users.
